Welcome to Windham Bible Chapel

Welcome Home

We are so pleased the Lord has brought you today to Windham Bible Chapel. Though it can sometimes be difficult to come into a new place with new people and feel comfortable, we want you to feel at home among the Lord's people. We are very glad you are here.

This brochure is designed to give you some basic information about the church. It profiles the church and various ministries, and it gives you the names of people to contact if you have any questions. Make yourself at home.

Who we are…

Windham Bible Chapel is a locally governed church affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America through the New England District Association.

Our organizational structure consists of a Board of Elders and a Board of Deacons who God has raised up from within this local body.

Windham Bible Chapel traces its beginnings back to the early 1980's, when it was established as a new work. Many of our members now come from surrounding communities with whom we seek to share the love of Jesus, and the good news of His salvation.

We are committed to the authority of the Bible as the Word of God and to the finished work of Jesus Christ as the only ground for salvation. We join hands with other brothers and sisters in Christ to make disciples throughout our nation, and all the world.

Our vision…

Our vision is to build a loving Christian community-teaching and training followers of Jesus Christ, sharing the good news of salvation, and participating in fellowship and ministry together as the Lord has gifted us.

Our people are located within a half hour driving radius of our building, causing us to have a regional ministry extending beyond the town of Windham. Part of our distinctiveness as a local church is that we place a high priority in teaching, understanding and living the truth of the Bible within the context of growing, loving relationships with the Lord and His people.

For those who seek…

For some, coming to a church service may be a new and different experience. God has drawn you here as you are seeking answers to some of life's most meaningful questions. Our prayer is that He will give you those answers and that you will receive His unconditional love.

Please feel comfortable to explore and discover the truth about God without feeling pushed or prodded.

The "bottom line" at Windham Bible Chapel is that we are a loving Christian community that gathers together to worship God, who desires an intimate relationship with us through His Son, Jesus Christ. We would like for you to know Him too. God loves you, and so do we.

If we can help you on your spiritual journey, please let us know. We understand that you are seeking.

For those who hurt…

The greatest message of encouragement we can give to you is that God loves you, and that there is both forgiveness and healing at the cross of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Great Physician. He gave His life so that we might live.

The chief problem of mankind is that we have sinned against God. As a result, we experience pain, suffering and death. The Bible says that "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). This alienation from God is felt spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Though a particular suffering may not be a direct cause of an individual sin, the general reality of sin creates the general reality of suffering, sickness, pain and death.

At the cross are found both forgiveness and healing, for Jesus' sacrifice paid the price for our sin. We receive the benefits of that sacrifice when we exercise faith by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-" (John 1:12). Complete healing comes when we are actually with the Lord. He may choose to touch and heal you now, or He may grant you the grace and strength to endure this suffering unto His glory. Though we are free in Christ from the penalty and power of sin, we are yet in its presence, so we still face sickness and pain in this world.

The good news is that we now have an Advocate in Christ. One day we will be totally free from pain and suffering. In the meantime, by faith we pray for His healing, while bowing our knees and our wills to His unerring sovereignty.

We want you to know that we love you and care about you. When one person in the body of Christ suffers, the whole body suffers. We would be happy to meet with you, pray with you, and help to carry your burdens in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
