Windham Bible Chapel presents Journey to Bethlehem as its Christmas gift to the area communities. Take the entire family on an outdoor guided reenactment of the journey Mary and Joseph took as they traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem two thousand years ago.
Join your period-costumed guide at the carpenter shop, who will supply you with a map and the necessary papers to show the Roman guards. Beware of beggars who may be waiting in the woods as you travel with your guide along the illuminated paths.
You will come upon the Wisemen traveling from the East, following a star insearch of the child who would be King. Warm yourself by the fire of the traveling prophets as they explain the Old Testament prophecy of the impending birth. Come upon shepherds as they are surprised by a visit from heavenly angels.
Hurry along to Bethlehem, try to get into the inn, and search of the newborn King, the baby Jesus, lying in a manger.
At the end of your journey the Congregation invites you and your family to warm up with hot chocolate and homemade cookie. Come join the Christmas caroling around the bonfire. This is a great way to experience the true meaning of Christmas. The Journey to Bethlehem is a gift from our family to yours.
Windham Bible Chapel is located off 93 at exit 3, follow Rt. 111 west approximately 2.2 miles (at a stop light). Turn left onto S.Lowell Road. The second left will be Cobbetts Pond Road. Follow it one quarter mile--the church is on the Right. Look for our signs to guide you. Click here for a Map.
